In town visiting my kid at University of Dubuque for the night and found this gem for dinner. Hand packed burgers and homemade fries were outstanding! We like to go were the locals go and stay away from chain restaurants. We made the right choice. Wife had the fish which was equally as good.

West Dubuque Tap is a fantastic spot with a lively atmosphere and some stellar food. The Bloody Marys are top-notch, perfectly spiced to kick off any visit. Their BLT is a must-try, with fresh-cut fries that hit the spot. And the pork tenderloin? It’s massive and delicious! A solid choice for a laid-back, satisfying meal.

This is our favorite place to stop and eat when we are visiting Dubuque. The food is homemade and cooked fresh with big portions. The burgers are great and breakfast is even better. They are known for the magic muffin for breakfast. But all the breakfast items are great. Also, If you love coleslaw you better try theirs. It's the best! It's a little family owned bar/restaurant that makes you feel at home .
